- ON steht für "Open Center - non reaction"
- „Open Center“ bedeutet, das diese Einheit für offene Systeme vorgesehen sind. In der Neutralstellung besteht zwischen der Pumpe und dem Tank eine offene Verbindung
- „Non-reaction“ bedeutetet es wird verhindert, das äußere, auf die Räder einwirkende Kräfte, am Lenkrad eine Drehbewegung auslösen, wenn die Lenkeinheit in Neutralstellung steht
- Die Lenkeinheit geht nach beendeter Drehung wieder automatisch zurück in die Neutralstellung
