GRAMMER tractor seats – 3 tips for comfort in the field

|5 minutes to read

Do you spend a lot of time each day operating a tractor, forklift, crane, digger, or another vehicle? Did you know that long hours behind the wheel can lead to neck, back, and shoulder issues? These physical problems reduce alertness and job satisfaction. GRAMMER is well-known for its seats, which provide maximum comfort for drivers of various vehicles. The following three GRAMMER tips will help reduce the risk of pain and injury, ensuring you can work comfortably.

Tip 1: Maintain proper posture and adjust your tractor seat

  • Your knees' position
Adjust your seat height to easily control the steering wheel and pedals. Aim for a knee angle of 110 to 120 degrees.
  • Sit correctly on the seat
Leave about three fingers' width between the back of your knees and the seat's edge. This slight backward tilt of your body helps prevent back and neck pain.
  • Correct backrest position
Adjust the backrest for a relaxed, slightly leaning position. Your hips should be at an angle of 110 to 115 degrees, allowing free movement.
  • Support the spine's natural curve
Ensure the natural shape of your spine is supported. Adjust the seat height and lumbar support. Find a comfortable position that provides lumbar support.

Tip 2: Easy stretching exercises for those long days on the tractor seat

  • Circular shoulder movements
Stretch your back and remain in this position. Rotate your shoulders forward eight times, then backward eight times.
  • Shoulder lifts
Stretch your back and stay in this position. Lift your shoulders as high as you can, hold them, then release and lower them. Repeat eight times.
  • Knee spreads
Spread your knees as wide as possible, then close them. Keep your feet stable. Repeat eight times.

Tip 3: Get up from the tractor seat and take a walk

Besides exercising, it's good to take breaks. Not only at lunch. Get out, walk around, and stretch your arms as you press them together firmly. Fully stretch your upper body. Jump back and forth to loosen your hips and knees.
