Skiving machines are designed to accurately and efficiently remove the outer rubber layer of hydraulic hoses. This results in a clean and smooth surface that allows optimal sealing and joining. Depending on the type of hose, skiving may be needed internally or externally and helps ensure a perfect fit between the hose, insert and ferrule. The correct skiving and press sizes are predetermined by the manufacturer and can be found in the hose press tables.
